Gerry Austin, OP,  Dominican friar, teacher and Catholic priest, has devoted over fifty years to spreading the good news of liturgical scholarship and practice to the church across the globe. His dedication to the field of pastoral liturgy is highlighted, and the breadth of his involvement can be seen by the origins of the essay authors, ranging from the U.S. and Canada to New Zealand and Australia. The essays are organized in two sections, Foundations, which deals with historical issues in liturgical studies, and Systematic Issues, which examines the present state of the liturgy.
