A collection of Year A homilies by Fr Mark Hartley, a Cistercian monk of Mount St Bernard Abbey, Leicester. The title of the book ‘I have got to come up with a sermon…..’ was one of Fr Mark’s regular cries.
Fr Mark’s preaching is spontaneous and his gentle style will appeal to many. Despite his apparent isolation in a monastery, Fr Mark had an ability to connect his spiritual insights with what was going on in the world.  He kept abreast of current affairs and events, and had a genuine understanding of the lot of ordinary people.
